Discovering the Adriatic Aboard Corsario:
A Five-Day FAM Trip Experience
Ignacio Peluffo
Ignacio has enjoyed sailing since he was a child on the Rio de la Plata. He studied law and practiced for 7 years. After living in São Paulo, he returned to Buenos Aires determined to turn his career around and joined the Dawe team in 2014.
Having sailed the Mediterranean and the Caribbean he has a thorough knowledge of yachts and destinations.
Recently, I had the privilege of joining a select group of fellow yacht charter brokers for a FAM trip aboard Corsario
Day 1: Embarkation and Exploring Brač Island
Our journey began in Split, where we boarded Corsario and were immediately welcomed by the friendly crew. After a short briefing, we set sail for the serene Kupinova Luka Bay on Brač Island, where we enjoyed stand-up paddleboarding, kayaking, swimming, and trying out the seabob.
Lunch that day set a high standard, as we savored dishes that had won Corsaro’s chef, Luka, second place in the CROYA Yacht Show chef competition. Every bite was a testament to the skill and creativity of the kitchen team, perfectly paired with Croatian wines that highlighted the local flavors.
That evening, we visited the charming town of Komiža on Vis Island. After exploring the town’s quaint streets, we returned to the yacht for an extraordinary four-course dinner featuring two types of fish prepared in various styles. We paired the meal with an array of fine wines, ending the night with Corsario’s Signature Cocktails, each crafted to perfection by Dario, which was the ideal conclusion to a memorable evening. We anchored for the night near Borovac, part of the Pakleni Islands archipelago.
Day 2: Hvar Town, Culinary Delights, and Evening Ambiance
We began our morning with a scenic walk through Hvar town, followed by a hike up to the fortress. The 30–40-minute walk rewarded us with breathtaking views, and we even found time to pick up some souvenirs on our way back. Next, we sailed to Gracisce Bay near Starigrad for a leisurely swim and a delicious lunch prepared by Chef Luka, showcasing a variety of flavors with dishes like rump steak, black risotto, and grilled tuna.
The warm afternoon was perfect for relaxing in Corsario’s jacuzzi, while some of us enjoyed the sauna—both of which added to the vessel’s appeal as a floating oasis.
That evening, we anchored in Tiha Bay and dressed for a formal dinner under the stars. The dining area was styled like a poker room, with Frank Sinatra crooning in the background. For dinner, we enjoyed a sumptuous three-course meal featuring veal cheeks that were simply extraordinary, tender and full of flavor, a perfectly cooked beefsteak, and apple pie with homemade vanilla ice cream for dessert.
Corsario is a stunning 157-foot motor sailer managed by High Point Yachting.
This experience was an opportunity to explore Corsario's luxurious amenities, meet its exceptional crew, and fully understand the high level of service and unique itineraries it offers to clients looking to discover the beauty of the Adriatic.
Day 3: Starigrad Strolls and a Clifftop BBQ
Our day began with some yoga and exercise on the flybridge while we were sailing to Starigrad. There we wandered the beautiful streets and soaked up the local atmosphere. Lunch was a light and refreshing spread of appetizers and salads—ideal for a day filled with exploration.
We then sailed to the secluded bay of Sinjava for an evening BBQ. Here, Captain Jure showcased his mastery by anchoring Corsario amid the rocks, allowing us to enjoy dinner at a private clifftop house. The terrace provided a breathtaking view of Corsario below, creating the perfect setting for a relaxed meal paired with some Argentine wine I had brought along. For dessert, we indulged in an unforgettable cheesecake, by Ivana—possibly one of the best I’ve ever tasted.
Throughout the evening, Dario was there with us, always attentive and cheerful, ensuring our glasses were filled and that we had everything we needed. His warm presence and attention to detail made every evening memorable.
Day 4: Water Sports and an Intimate Farewell Dinner
After exploring the town of Jelsa in the morning, we sailed to Uzavrace Bay on Brač Island. Here, we indulged in all of Corsario’s water sports amenities, including wakeboarding and exhilarating jumps from the yacht’s deck. It was a perfect day for adventure, with everyone enjoying the pristine waters and making the most of the yacht’s offerings
That evening, we docked in Milna and enjoyed a rustic yet delicious meal at Konoba Ziza, a local tavern near Donji Humac. They served PEKA, which is a typical local (very) slow cooked dish. It was a night of gratitude and relaxation as we shared stories with the crew and expressed our appreciation for their hard work. We enjoyed simple yet flavorful Croatian dishes, capping off a wonderful day of adventure and bonding.
Day 5: Fond Farewells and Final Reflections
Our last morning aboard Corsario was tinged with both satisfaction and sadness as we disembarked at Zapadna Obala in Split. The FAM trip had been an incredible journey, revealing the Adriatic’s beauty and showcasing Corsario’s ability to deliver an unparalleled charter experience
The Crew: Heart and Soul of Corsario
While the yacht and the itinerary were spectacular, it was the crew that truly made this experience unforgettable.
Special mention goes to Magdalena, whose radiant smile and warm personality lit up each day. She was always ready to assist, ensuring we felt at home. The sous chef, Ivana, amazed us daily with her delicious desserts, adding a sweet note to our luxurious meals. Luka, the chef, impressed us continuously with his culinary excellence, creating dishes that elevated each dining experience onboard.
Captain Jure’s deep knowledge of the Adriatic was evident throughout, and his skill in navigating the sometimes challenging waters was remarkable. We barely noticed the strong winds one day, a testament to his expertise and commitment to a smooth, enjoyable journey.
