ITINERARY (7 days)
DAY 1 – Cannes
Embark in the afternoon at St. Laurent du Var, just 5 minutes by taxi from Nice airport. Take a short sail to Cannes, known for its world-famous film festival. Go ashore to enjoy a stroll through the old part of the city and savor excellent cuisine at any of its restaurants. Sleep aboard in the port of Cannes and wake up to the sun shining on Le Suquet Hill.
Other embarkation options include Antibes, Nice, Cannes, St. Tropez, or Monaco.
DAY 2 – St. Tropez
Head out and anchor in the bay of Cannes to sunbathe, swim, and have lunch, perhaps with views of the famous hotels’ beaches along La Croisette. Lift anchor after lunch and sail to St. Tropez for the night. Explore the romantic village and, if you want to mingle with celebrities, head to the nightclub at Hotel Byblos (there are often long lines at the entrance, so it’s best to have good connections, otherwise you might wait all night to get in!).
DAY 3 – St. Tropez
After breakfast on board, browse the beautiful boutiques in the village. Depart from the St. Tropez harbor early in the afternoon and anchor at the famous Pampelonne Beach to enjoy a day at the beach and a leisurely lunch at the world-renowned Club 55 (secure reservations early during the high season). Return to the St. Tropez harbor for another night in the city. If you prefer not to spend two nights in St. Tropez, consider spending a night in St. Maxime.
DAY 4 – St. Raphael
Sail east to Saint Raphael. Depending on your cruising speed, you might spend an hour or two admiring Iles de Porquerolles and Ile du Levant. Choose a convenient anchorage for lunch and enjoy an afternoon of sunbathing and swimming. Observe the stunning coastline along the way and dock at the St. Raphael marina. Explore the city, paying special attention to the Basilique Notre-Dame de la Victoire.
DAY 5 – Antibes
On your fifth day, set sail for Antibes. Here, you can enjoy a delightful picnic on its serene beaches or disembark and explore the city’s surroundings, including its museums, shops, and café restaurants.
DAY 6 – Monaco
Set sail for Monaco, one of the most famous cities in the region and a must-stop on your itinerary along the French Riviera. We recommend enjoying its beaches and crystal-clear waters. In the evening, go ashore to explore its nightlife streets, bars, and dancing venues, or visit the world’s most famous casino, the Monte Carlo Casino.
DAY 7 – St. Jean Cap ferrat
Raise the anchor and sail to the beautiful bay of Villefranche. Moor in the port of Villefranche for the night. You’ll find yourself in one of the most beautiful ports on the French Riviera at the base of Cap Ferrat, where many of the world’s wealthiest people own spectacular villas. For dinner ashore, you might consider the famous Grand Hotel du Cap Ferrat.
As you near the end of your itinerary, your destination will be Nice. It’s the largest city on the French Riviera, stretching from Hyères to Menton. Its resorts and beaches attract high-end tourism, as do its promenades, museums, nightlife, and magnificent sea views, making it a very special attraction. Here, you’ll conclude your marina experience, where you’ll check out from your private boat in the morning.
Maritimes Conditions
General Conditions
The Mediterranean can be divided into two main areas. West of Toulon, northwest winds dominate year-round. The “Tramontane” blows from the Pyrenees to Sète, and “the Mistral” rushes down the Rhône Valley and can even reach Corsica and Sardinia. Summer breezes rarely exceed 15 to 20 knots in the south and southeast are more common during the summer.
The Mistral is responsible for sunny conditions in the region. East of Toulon, the Mistral’s impact is moderated. Southerly and southeasterly sea breezes rarely exceed 15 knots around noon, calming down in the evening.
Tides
Strong waves from the south, southwest are built west of Toulon but considerably weaker east of Toulon. Water temperatures in summer are perfect for all kinds of water sports. Tides are less than 30 cm.
