St. Vincent & The Granadines
REVIEW
Explore San Vicente Island in the Caribbean: Walk along its white sandy beaches, immerse yourself in crystal-clear waters for snorkeling among colorful corals, and discover its culture at the local market and historical museums.
ITINERAY (7 day)
DAY 1 – St Vincent to Bequia
15 nautical miles (depending on the vessel, between an hour and a half and two and a half hours).
Start your charter from one of the marinas on the southern tip of St. Vincent and sail to Bequia, where Port Elizabeth welcomes you with shops, restaurants, and island style. Take a stroll through the town, hike to the top of Mount Pleasant for a panoramic view of the surrounding islands, or visit the sanctuary that has protected hawksbill turtles since 1995.
Tip: Young Island Resort is very charming if you want to spend the night before. It’s on a small island at the southern tip of St. Vincent.
DAY 2 – Bequia to Mustique
8 nautical miles (depending on the vessel, between an hour and an hour and a half). Mustique is one of the trendy islands for celebrities due to its exclusivity and privacy. There are a handful of luxury shops and restaurants on the island. Explore its beautiful beaches.
Tip: Visit Basil’s beach bar or Firefly hotel, where the martini menu is as legendary as the harbor view. Order a Mosquito (made with cranberry juice and lime) and enjoy a sunset overlooking your boat.
DAY 3 – Mustique to los Cayos de Tobago
15 nautical miles (depending on the vessel, between an hour and a half and two and a half hours). The Tobago Cays are a paradise for water lovers, with blue and green colors stretching to the horizon. Swimming and snorkeling are must-do activities here. Sea turtles enjoy several of the area’s reefs. When the sun sets, you can step off your boat and enjoy a barbecue of fresh lobster with potatoes.
The five deserted islands of Tobago Cays are the jewels of the Marine Park; “Horse Shoe Reef” almost surrounds the four main cays. We recommend visiting the area’s Petit Tabac Island, where Pirates of the Caribbean was filmed, and Sail Rock, a small island that provides an excellent diving spot. This is the best point in the itinerary for diving and snorkeling enthusiasts. If you make a stop at Canouan Island, enjoy the Sandy Lane Yacht Club, one of the most beautiful and complete marinas on this itinerary.
DAY 4 – Cayos de Tobago to Mayreau
2 nautical miles (depending on the vessel, between 20 minutes and half an hour).
Mayreau is the smallest inhabited island in the Grenadines, and its Old Wall Village is only accessible by boat. Salt Whistle Bay features a long white sand beach within a well-protected harbor, making it a very comfortable place to anchor your boat. You can explore the old Catholic church on top of the mountain on land. We recommend having lunch at the beach stands where lobsters abound.
DAY 5 – Mayreau to Petit St. Vincent
6 nautical miles (depending on the vessel, between an hour and an hour).
Petit St. Vincent offers the same tranquility as Mayreau, but with a different view. The hiking route to the summit is a tropical paradise full of rubber trees, orchids, and pure air. Between the two islands, you can touch Union Island and stop by Happy Island Bar or enjoy one of its many kite surfing spots.
Tip: One of the big attractions of the place can be the smallest island in the world, Mopion. It’s about 300 m2, a lively postcard of the Caribbean.
DAY 6 – Petit St.Vicent to Carriacou
DAY 7 – Carriacou to granada
40 nautical miles (depending on the vessel, between four and six hours).
Options in Grenada include a visit to the bustling shops and restaurants of the capital, St. George, a tour of the Belmont cocoa plantation, or a hike through the rainforest in Grand Etang National Park for a refreshing swim in St. Margaret’s waterfalls.
Tip: Some souvenirs may include spices, rum, and locally produced chocolate, as well as wooden crafts, paintings, and colorful handwoven textiles.
